However, should the delegator be solely responsible for effective delegation? Effective delegation is in fact a two way process that should involve both parties taking responsibility for its success. Employee development should be the number one reason for delegation. Employees today are taking more responsibility for their own development in many ways; such as identifying their own training needs, mentors and career paths.
